How to Use Tasbih Islamic Prayer Beads
Islamic prayer beads are commonly known as Misbaha, Tasbih or Tasbeeh. They are used by Muslims as a guide during their prayer to the Almighty. Its name originated form the word ‘Supha’ which means to recite the glories of the one and only Allah. Thus Islamic Prayer beads are used all over world to pray to the Almighty.
Tasbih generally consist of 99 beads. They are counted during reciting 99 names of Allah. Some Islamic prayer beads also consist of 33 prayer beads only, then they are counted through 3 times during the recitation praise of Allah called dhikr. A typical Dhikr prayer recitation with Islamic prayer beads may consist of reciting Allahu Akbar( Allah is the Greatest) 34 times followed by Al-Ahamdulilah (Praise be to Allah) 33 times and and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) 33 times usually recited after one has completed all 5 daily ritual Namaz. With the help of Islamic prayer beads, one can do prayer in solitude in almost trance like state.
Islamic prayer beads are generally made of wood but also comes in pearls, ivory and amber. The less expensive ones are made up of olive seeds or plastic. During the introduction of concept in Prophet Mohammed’s era, stones or pebbles were also used for prayer recitation. Nowadays, various types of Tasbihs are used, some of them comes with perfume fragrance which can be retained by keeping them in boxes and digital tasbih counters are also available in market easily.
Its also believed that one who regularly recites the Praise of the Allah with prayer beads, he will be saved by the Allah on the day of destruction. Muslim, being well known for their devotion and dedication, use prayer beads generally during prayer in solitude or secrecy.

My friend gave me a gift from Mekkah, Tasbih with 45 beads. So I have a question, why 45? As I know, traditional Tasbih’s beads is 33 or 99.
